3700R EASTLAKE PL NE
Feb. 24, 2021:
The University of Washington's Applied Physics Lab (APL) would like to perform a series of hydroacoustic tests off a marine vessel in the Lake Washington Ship Canal, Seattle, WA. Underwater electroacoustic measurements are made in test facilities such as the ATF (Acoustic Test Facility), APL-UW. These short-term tests may be carried out on a variety of hydroacoustic systems. The ATF would be a basically fixed set of equipment and what would change is the equipment being tested.
All equipment will be located on the Research Vessel (R/V) Russell Davis Light which is moored dockside under the University Bridge in Seattle, WA in approximately 4.5 meters (m) water depth. The ATF is used to determine source strength and beam patterns of acoustic sources and sensitivity and beam patterns of acoustic receivers. The ATF will be installed and operated on the R/V Russel Davis Light at the end of the APL dock.
