April 2, 2021: We purchased 1813 N 53rd Street and the DADU in September of 2020. Approximately 6 weeks after purchasing the home, we learned through the sellers' real estate agent that the sellers had never completed the permitting process to convert the garage into the DADU. This fact was not disclosed by the sellers during the sale process. We bought 1813 N 53rd Street primarily for the DADU as we have recently moved my mother-in-law from Philadelphia to Seattle. We will not rent the DADU as it is now my mother-in-law's primary residence. We wish to complete the permitting process so as to be in compliance with city ordinances.
