7551 8TH AVE S

July 24, 2021: The proposed project will be a the installation of conveyance swales in the planting strip right-of-way that is adjacent to the address of 7551 8th Ave S.
1. The intention is to continue with standing water remediations and hydrological improvements that began with Phase 1 (Permit #: SUCONSTX421616). This will be done by regrading the slope of the parking strip so water flows into the planting strip where the conveyance swales will be installed. This is ultimately designed so water doesn't collect on the street and pool at the parking lot of Gateway Park.
2. The scope of work terminates within 200 feet of the shoreline and we will need a shoreline exemption for our work to proceed.
3. Parallel parking will be suspended for the duration of the project and new curbing will be installed between the street and the conveyance swales.
4. Tree and vegetation installation is planned for within the swales. This will aid the area in air quality improvements, absorb the run-off water that the swales will be collecting, and improve the aesthetic qualities of Georgetown's only public access frontage to the Duwamish River.

Canceled.
