3528R BEACH DR SW

Nov. 6, 2022: The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) proposes to install a new, permanent generator to replace the existing portable generator at the Alki Wet Weather Treatment Station Facility (WWTSF) located within King County Parcel 0148000274 at 3350 Beach Drive SW. The new generator will function as a standby generator for both the Alki WWTSF and the 63rd Avenue Pump Station at 3535 Beach Drive SW, Seattle. In the event of a utility outage, power from this standby generator located at the Alki WWTSF will run the 63rd Avenue Pump Station Facility pumps. The project will involve trenching and laying electrical duct within the public road right of way between these two WTD facilities. As the duct approaches the Pump Station, it will cross several existing utilities under the southern sidewalk of Beach Drive. The 2" gas line utility cannot be avoided at this location. As such, WTD is requesting to relocate a section of this gas line to accommodate the duct.
