10269 MAPLEWOOD PL SW
Nov. 20, 2022:
The area under our waterfront deck (9ft x12ft) was backfilled with construction debris, beach sand and clay chunks. The debris included several unsightly large chunks of concrete leaning against the support for the deck. Additionally, there is an old drainage pipe that is failing. We want to clear the debris, improve and re-connect the drainage, and add a small wood and post wall (3ft high x12 ft wide), to hide the foundation and drainage pipes and provide storage for our kayak and SUP. There are existing concrete stairs and a large concrete chunks which we want to mortar together to make a sitting area and walkway access for SUP storage.
The face of the seawall has some cracks, but is otherwise sound. We would like to fill the voids with concrete patch to slow the degradation of the surface.
On the east boundary of our property, along the driveway, we want to move the east fence line 4 feet out, to the property line. This will involve removing a 4'x20' paved strip which will then be maintained as permeable landscaping. Changes to the fence line does not impact the neighbors view.
The purpose of the moving the fence line is to secure our property, enclose our dog, provide privacy and visibly establish our ownership. This is, in part, a response to 5 years of litigation by our neighbor who attempted to adversely possess that portion of our property which was outside the original fence line. She lost in court twice, at great expense to all concerned. Her home is built within 8 feet of our mutual north-south property line. A later remodel added stairs and landing 1 foot from the property line, affording us little privacy and fueling her desire for our land. Her home has been a rental property for 5 years and is about to go on the market. We do not want to go through this again with a new neighbor.
Thank you.
