3104 PORTAGE BAY PL E
Dec. 25, 2022:
The city has kicked off a project adjacent to our property that will prevent our ability to access it via car. This greatly impacts members of our floating home association - Willow Cove II who have mobility issues, not to mention will also cause huge issues with circulation at the dead end of Portage Bay Place East. We are a dock of six floating homes.
Below is a summary of SDOTs current plans and an attached site diagram titled Portage Bay PL E, Stariway.PDF provided to us by Greg with his comments.
The City will widen the existing public stair to 6ft.
The existing public wood stair will be replaced by concrete and extend to be a longer run in order to integrate a mid-point landing.
The City Plans to install piles along the Willow Cove property line and the right of way from the top of the public stairs to right around the corner of Willow Cove property.
The city plans to install bollards at the base of the hill to prevent any vehicles from accessing the right of way.
Generally the defined, existing asphalt area will remain as is.
In response to SDOTs attached plan we met with Greg and proposed a plan to create a new drive/ walk entry onto our property that would allow for pick up, drop off and parking, and a planting area along the newly constructed SDOT improvements. I've attached said plan titled Plan Diagram_minimal grade modification.
We would like to explore permitting the improvements attached in Diagram Minimal Grade Modification.
