705 S CHARLES ST

March 21, 2024: The Charles Street Electrical Upgrade is an initiative by the City of Seattle to align with its environmental goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. At the forefront of this endeavor is the Rapid Fleet Electrification of City vehicles, recognized as a key guiding principle. As part of the broader strategy, the project includes an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure Planning Study, aimed at feasibility, to propel the initiative forward.

The primary objective of the Charles Street Electrical Upgrade is to implement necessary electrical service modifications. These modifications are essential to meet both current and future electric vehicle charging requirements for tenant spaces on the site. By focusing on these aspects, the project aims to facilitate the transition to electric fleets, realizing substantial carbon and cost savings in the process.
