3480 WEST MARGINAL WAY SW

Jan. 17, 2025: During the summer of 2023, contact between vessels and the pier facility operated by Pacific Terminals, Inc, sustained significant structural damage to the pier structure rendering a portion of it unusable for business purposes. The impact damaged two 14" fender piles, two HDPE chaffing plates and detached these pilings from the exisitng piling cap.

The damage has rendered approximately 20 lineal feet of the berth unusable for business. Repairs must be conducted as soon as possible to be included in the present fish window and minimize lost revenue.

Pacific Terminals is proposing to replace the following items at the Terminal 7 dock due to damage from a recent vessel impact;
-Pull and replace two existing damaged 14" fender timber piles with 14" steel or UHMW/HDPE or similar poly-coated timber pile
- Pull and replace two HDPE chaffing plates on newly installed fender piles
-Reattach all replaced pilings to replaced piling caps with galvanized hardware
