May 4, 2025: The area between the end of E Blaine St and E Galer St is designated as City of Seattle-owned Public Right-of-Way. Permitting for the project will be processed through SDOT's SIP submission and SDCI's Shoreline MUP. The proposed street improvement project aims to enhance public access and expand green space by replacing existing parking along Fairview Ave E with native plantings, turf, and a raised wood overlook. These improvements will contribute to the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop trail and provide an amenity space for the surrounding tenants of ARE properties. Additionally, the project will include trail enhancements along Fairview Ave E, further improving the pedestrian experience and ecological function of the corridor.
