May 22, 2008: Surrey Downs Park Master Plan - COB. Application for prelminary SEPA review on a non project proposal to develop a park master plan for the Surrey Downs Park. The master plan proposal will re-locate, update and expand 2 existing baseball fields on the southern portion of the site. Included program elements of the park consist of; Restroom structure, Community Kiosk, Covered Picnic Shelter, Pedestrian entry plaza, Children's play area with tot lot, Climbing wall, Discovery / environmental play area, Great Lawn, Hoop court, Skate spot, Garden terraces, remnant Hazelnut Orchard, loop pathways and sculptural earth elements that incorporate a labyrinth walking path. Included in the proposal is a development zone that will allow future development with a community center on the site. Parking for the site is located in this development zone. The maximum building program for the site would be a community center of approximately 45,000 SF with structured underground parking to accommodate approximately 250 parking stalls. A smaller Community Center is also being considering in addition to a no community center alternative with at grade parking capacity of approximately 90-125 stalls.
