March 10, 2016: Town & Country Market (Lakemont). As part of the Grocery building remodel the tenant would like to maximize parking in front of the store and incorporate 50 degree angled parking in lieu of 90 degree stalls. This option is more suitable for the customers patronizing the store. Included within these upgrades will be the removal of the east west walkway through the parking lot and a slight reduction in the plaza area (and associated public easement) to accommodate same. Light fixtures landscape islands and a storm drain inlet will be relocated or modified and some minor grading to ensure positive drainage and prevent ponding of water in the parking lot will also be accomplished as part of the project. It is our assertion that Bellevue LUC code section 20.20.590 K.8. requiring an internal parking lot walkaway is met by the accessible route at the south end of the parking area adjacent to the plaza area and in front of the retail building. We believe this approach will increase use of the plaza area.
