3000 Landerholm Cir SE - Bldg Q

April 11, 2016: Bellevue College Student Housing Phase 1. Bellevue College is planning to construct a new 350 bed student housing building featuring a public cafe and meeting space on the ground level. The site is located on the north end of campus on an existing surface parking lot. This construction is planned to begin in February of 2017. However recent geotechnical investigations have revealed a significant amount of concrete rubble buried under the site. The concrete rubble located up to 7'-0" deep in the landscape medians that had been deposited years earlier as construction demolition. In order to avoid removing the concrete rubble during the wet season, when a significant amount of soils would also need to be removed from the site, the College requests an early clearing and grading permit by August 1st of 2016 to remove the rubble, stabilize the soils, and prepare for subsequent building construction. Construction of the building would then resume four months later in February of 2017. The intention is to construct TESC measures that would remain in place through the duration of construction, remove the concrete rubble, and stabilize the soils with a layer of crushed asphalt. At this time, the private water main and sewer would also be installed through the site, thus a utilities permit review is also requested in addition to the clearing and grading permit review. Please see attached narrative for more information.

Jan. 4, 2017: Completed.
