Nov. 9, 2016: ERC Rail Removal. Work will include removal of the rail infrastructure within the Eastside Rail Corridor to improve access efficiency and safety for maintenance and operations and in the interim improve safety in the corridor for pedestrians and wide tired bicycles until the corridor can be developed into a regional trail. Work includes removal of rails and timber ties and minor grading of ballast to even out the railbed and place 4 inches of ADA crushed gravel material on the railbed to enhance maintenance access and user safety. The project will also include stringers repair on the trestle at SE 32nd Street and placement of asphalt on bridge crossings at I90 and SE 32nd Street. Appropriate safety signage and features such as bollards will be installed at crossings. No in-water work will occur and no critical areas will be impacted by the project., NA
