July 26, 2017: MEDINA FORCEMAIN AND PROPOSED SIPHON ODOR CONTROL. Icicle Creek Engineers (ICE) plans to complete two test borings within the existing paved parking area of the Wilburton Pump Station located at 12008 SE 9th Place in Bellevue, Washington. This work is being completed on behalf of King County (owner) and Parametrix (civil design lead). The borings will be drilled to a depth ranging from 40 to 60 feet, depending on soil conditions, using truck- or rubber track-mounted drill equipment, by Gregory Drilling of Redmond, WA using conventional hollow-stem auger and mud-rotary drilling methods for the purpose of evaluating subsurface soil and groundwater conditions to aid in the design of the Proposed Siphon Odor Control Facility. The test borings will be continuously monitored by an engineering geologist or engineer from ICE. Soil cuttings and drillling mud will be contained and hauled off site. The test borings will be abandoned in accordance with Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) regulations. A groundwater monitoring well (piezometer) will be installed in both borings. The surface of the pavement will be restored with a flush-grade well monument set in concrete. When no longer needed the monitoring wells will be decommissioned in accordance with Ecology requirements.
