April 19, 2018: Vasa Beach Park Emergency Pile Repair. The project is an emergency repair of two damaged piles (northern and southern piles). One helical anchor will be installed adjacent the northern pile, which has been damaged beyond repair. A chain and buoy will be attached to the anchor as a temporary repair. It is anticipated that the southern pile can be repaired. A HDPE sleeve and cone will be bolted to the existing timber pile approximately two feet below the water line. If it is determined that the existing pile is compromised beyond repair, a second helical anchor with buoy will be installed adjacent the southern pile. The damaged pile would then be cut off at the mudline to prevent injury to swimmers. A new swim rope will then be attached to the buoy(s)/pile.

June 5, 2018: Completed.
