Oct. 9, 2018: PW-R-185, SE Newport Way,. The Newport Way project spans 4,500 linear feet (0.85 mile) of SE Newport Way, from Somerset Boulevard SE to 150th Avenue SE. It will include adding a 10-foot wide mixed-use path for pedestrians and cyclists along the northern side of the roadway, a 5-foot bike lane along the southern side of the roadway, nine new retaining walls, and replacement of some sections of guardrail, lighting, and signage. The project will also require new drainage infrastructure to meet the City of Bellevue's stormwater code, and associated utility improvements, such as a new curb-gutter system to separate roadway stormwater and natural surface water. Part of the construction of the Newport Way project is expected to Detour local traffic, limit construction hours and provide flagger-controlled work zones.
