Feb. 14, 2019: Forest Hills Water Main Rehabilitation. The City of Bellevue Utilities Department plans to replace the existing 12 inch approximately 700 LF ductile iron water main between the Forest Hills Reservoir and the existing pressure reducing valve PRV station 100959, within the Forest Park Open Space, owned by Bellevue Utilities Dept. PRV station will be abandoned in place and a replacement PRV station will be constructed to the south within the street pavement on 140th Place SE. The current plan is to bore the replacement water main under the creek minimum 6 feet below the creek bed using horizontal directional drilling or HDD, or jack and bore. The HDD would extend close to the full width of the 50 foot stream buffer to the east, but the bore pit on the west side would be located within the stream buffer close to the stream. The pipe size that is bored would be either 12, 14 or 16 inch diameter. The remaining pipe will be installed via open cut trenching and tie into reservoir.
