May 8, 2019: Eastside Rail Corridor - NE 8th Street Crossing. The NE 8th Street Crossing project will accommodate access to the future at-grade segments of the ERC trail to the north and south of NE 8th Street and to east-west connecting pathways/sidewalks. The design will include full site integration of the trail crossing with the streetscape, parcels through which the trail structure must pass and with the Sound Transit Wilburton Station.
The proposed crossing consists of a steel truss bridge, which is located in a heavily constrained alignment that crosses under, then is located adjacent to, an elevated Sound Transit light rail guideway. Paved ramps on fill (including both retained and unretained fill sections) will be used to connect from grade to the bridge spans. Access stairs will also be constructed as part of the project, along with a south ramp from the south approach to NE 8th Street, at-grade user amenities including mixing zones, wayfinding, and seating. Public art is also included in the project. The bridge is located in a prominent location in the City of Bellevue, and will include aesthetic enhancements.

March 10, 2023: Completed.
