Oct. 23, 2019: Indoor Cricket Batting Lanes Buildout. We are a WA State Non-Profit cricket academy. We are looking to build indoor batting cages for our youth players to practice cricket. This indoor facility will be used purely for practice purposes, with only coaches & players in the facility. We request some feedback from the Building department to see if this use can be permitted, so that we can sign the lease. Description of the Building: The building is a 22,000 sq ft building that is divided into two floors. The second floor of the building has office space while the first floor is a warehouse. We plan on using the first floor 11,000 sqft warehouse as is. Our lease is going to be a short term lease of 3 years, because the owners do not know what will happen with the building after that with Light Rail project happening next to the building. Description of Our Use: We plan on putting in batting cages in the warehouse for our youth players to practice cricket. Here is our estimate of the maximum people who will be occupying the building. 1) Youth Players - 3 per lane = 18 youth players total 2) Coaches = 2 3) Volunteers = 4 4) Parents = They drop off and pick their players. So about 5 during drop/pick times. Total people in the facility (maximum) = 25 We would like your feedback on our use before we sign the lease for the building. We have less than a week to sign the lease as the building has other offers. So please guide us.
