Oct. 28, 2019: Vasa Creek Compensatory Stream Enhancement. In August, 2018, work associated with a King County Wastewater Treatment Division construction project resulted in unanticipated negative impacts to Vasa Creek. To compensate for these impacts, King County proposes to implement a stream enhancement project. The reach of Vasa Creek that passes under the 164th Place SE bridge has been identified by the City of Bellevue as a low flow passage barrier due to the lack of a defined channel within the bridge footprint. This project will include installing a roughened channel with defined banks, along with invasive vegetation removal and riparian planting.
