July 28, 2020: Bellefield 8 Parking Lot Repair. The owner is considering a more permanent solution for the parking lot maintenance. The parking is constructed over a deep layer of organic material that is continuously settling. In 1996, the previous property owner did a partial parking lot repair using rigid form blocking. Areas where rigid foam blocking was installed show a significantly slower settlement rate, except along the Mercer Slough edge. The owner would like to obtain information about permitting and timing for a parking lot repair that includes:
- Removal of the existing paved surface and subgrade
- Installation of light weight fill or rigid foam subgrade material
- Installation of new pavement for the entire parking lot
