Nov. 6, 2020: COBU - Somerset No 1 Reservoir Decommissioning. The City of Bellevue Somerset No 1 Reservoir is located in a residential neighborhood adjacent to the Somerset Recreation Club and is tucked into a downward east to west sloped road shoulder. The reservoir was taken out of service in 2002 and was identified to be seismically stabilized and decommissioned. An abandonment and demolition study and feasibility analyses have been completed. This project includes decommissioning of the City of Bellevue Somerset No 1 Reservoir by partially demolishing the reservoir leaving a steel brace stabilized east wall and 8in-thick concrete mat floor and using backfill to re-grade the current hillside. Demolition and removal of the on-site pad-mounted electrical transformer wood stairway concrete landing and steel handrail and abandonment of the existing PRV piping within the reservoir structure are also included in this project. Excavation around the north and south of the reservoir are necessary prior to the any demolition efforts and backfill will be placed and graded to match the design slope of the hillside. Landscaping efforts include removal of existing trees and plants and new topsoil and plantings. Construction duration is anticipated to be approximately eight weeks. Due to the limited space on site use of public street and right of way are anticipated during the construction phase of this project., N/A
