April 12, 2021: Sunset Hills Memorial Park Expansion. The project proposes a 4.1 acre expansion to Sunset Hill Memorial Park's existing 36.2 acre cemetery, as well as the redevelopment of 3.78 acres of existing cemetery property. Approximately 2.4 acres of existing forest will be graded and then reestablished in support of the expansion set aside as part of the proposed 19.0 acre permanent forest preserve. The project includes work adjacent to existing critical areas and within a portion of those buffers, as detailed in the Critical Areas Land Use Permit application that accompanies this CUP. A Variance is also part of the project which would allow a fill/excavation depth greater than 5 feet.
