Sept. 17, 2021: ST I-405 BRT - Bellevue Transit Center and Layover. For the south and north Sound Transit I-405 BRT service lines (S1 and S2, respectively) two existing bus bays at the Bellevue Transit Center (Bay 5 and Bay 6 in the northeast portion of the transit center island) will be modified to accommodate I-405 BRT passenger pick up, vehicles and system features. I-405 BRT passenger drop off would occur in the southeast portion of the transit center island, at Bays 7 and 8, which includes removal of benches and windscreens.

Less than one-half mile north of the transit center, adjacent to the Bellevue Library, 110th Avenue NE will be reconfigured to accommodate four on street layover spaces for I-405 BRT vehicles (five spaces during peak demand) along the west side of NE 110th Avenue. Along the south side of NE 12th Street two layover spaces will be constructed just west of 110th Avenue NE. To access the layover spaces from the transit center, I-405 BRT vehicles would turn right onto 108th Avenue NE, right onto NE 12th Street, and then right again to the layover spaces on 110th Avenue NE.
