March 7, 2023: Somerset Highlands Fire Flow Improvements - PH1. The purpose of this project is to resolve a critical fire flow deficiency in the Somerset 1000 (SS1000) pressure zone. The City is constructing a new 12-in waterline that will improve the fire flow capacity. Additional construction activities trenching and excavation, grading and paving, and temporary erosion and sediment control (TESC) measures. The construction of the fire flow line may have several impacts on the surrounding area. All necessary appurtenances will be located within the right-of-way to avoid the need for additional easements. However, work in the right of way will require traffic control measures to restrict local access, with efforts made to limit closures as much as possible. Additionally, connecting to the existing 12-in water main may require coordinated shutdown with other lines.
