Feb. 20, 2024: Newport Yacht Club Bulkhead Replacement. The project proposes shoreline stabilization methods at the Newport Yacht Club. To the north, the marina's existing timber bulkhead will be removed and steel sheet pile installed landward of the existing bulkhead. To the south, steel sheet pile will be installed landward of the existing riprap, placed above OHW. The project will involve backfilling in the disturbed areas and repairs to the existing pavement adjacent to the shoreline. In addition, the project proposes a kayak launch improving shoreline access for kayak and paddleboard launching.
