Newport Yacht Club Bulkhead Replacement. The project proposes shoreline stabilization methods at the Newport Yacht Club. The purpose of the project is
to protect the shoreline and upland from observed settlement due to erosive conditions and to maintain the
upland facilities functional use. To the north of the site, the marina's existing timber bulkhead will be removed
and steel sheet pile installed landward of the bulkhead. To the south, steel sheet pile will be installed
landward of the existing riprap, placed above ordinary high water (OHW). The project will involve backfilling in
the disturbed areas and repairs to the existing pavement adjacent to the shoreline. The project will remove 16
LF of creosote-treated timber from the shoreline.In addition, the project proposes a kayak launch improving
shoreline access for kayak and paddleboard launching.
Included in this application is an existing 50 SF pier and two (2) existing boatlifts located at dock B/C.
