Nov. 3, 2026: Fence relocation on South Side. Goal: Move the existing fence to the legal property line, away from the slope. Background: Before late 2020 there was no fence on the boundary, because the two parcels are at different grades (the south neighbor is lower). Around the end of 2020, the neighbor installed a wire fence (galvanized pipe posts in concrete) that follows the slope. They also added segmental block walls and pavers that extend onto our SW corner. Proposed Scope: Remove the existing fence. Rebuild it with the same materials on the legal line, starting at the steepest point and moving back from the slope as the grade decreases (Geotech Sec. 5.7, Rec. 7). If cost allows, remove the approx. 20 ft decorative block wall. Then restore the area by grading, compacting and replanting per Sec. 5.7. Leave the original rockery alone. It supports the slope and doesn't cross the property line. Geotechnical Summary (Ages Engineering, Project A-1832): Factor of Safety is 2.2 static and 1.9 seismic, above the 1.5 and 1.2 requirements. The soil is very dense glacial till, and none of the 7 test holes showed groundwater seepage. The work is in or near a Steep Slope Hazard Area (BMC 20.25H.120) and will follow BMC 20.25H.125. The new location is farther away from the slope. Attachments: -Parcel map with critical area markings. -Arial photo of the vegetation -Geotech report -Ground photos of the fence and adjacent areas
