Nov. 3, 2026: Sturtevant Creek Culvert Replacement. The City of Bellevue Utilities proposes to replace a fish passage barrier (WDFW Site ID 934353) on Sturtevant Creek under Northeast 2nd Place. The project will replace the existing culverts with a 16-foot-wide box to improve fish passage. The culvert replacement will occur in Bellevue, Washington, on right of way owned by the City. Additional stream restoration, including large woody material (LWM) and stream bed gravel placement, is proposed from the new structure to the north (upstream) approximately 100 feet to the WSDOT property line, located on adjacent private properties (parcel numbers 2543200105 and 2543200125). Limited restoration downstream of Northeast 2nd Place to construct the crossing, tie in the new structure to the stream channel, and provide vegetation restoration will also be performed, as well as project staging, on private property (parcel number 2543200015). An existing gravity sewer will also be rerouted to make room for the new, larger culvert.
